How should we handle??? PLEASE RESPOND

I just got a call from my step sister in Missouri, my 83 year old grandma went in this morning for a colonoscopy and they perforated her colon causing major bleeding.  She has been rushed into emergency surgery.  She SHOULD do just fine but it did get me to thinking.....  She has had many issues with health and I really don't see her lasting too much longer.  When the time comes I will want to be at her services, probably a two day deal.  Does everyone know how you would handle such a situation?  Would you take personal time off?  Do we need me to introduce you to a back up sitter for such instances?  I would like to plan ahead for something such as that rather than throw everyone for a loop last minute.  I think it is important that each of you have a back up plan in some way. You should be able to make comments on this post, so please let me know how you all want to approach this. I have one sitter here in town in mind, her name is Karla Raub, she has been doing daycare for more than 15 years.  I think she has a pretty light load this year.  I have never approached her about being my back up, but if any of you would like me to, and she agrees, we could set up a time for you to meet her and see her house if you wanted.  Let me know.

Thanks,
Michelle
